Meet Dr. Richard Caron

Dr. Richard A. Caron has lived in Mississippi for 33 years. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in Oxford in 1982. In that same year, Dr. Caron entered the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in Jackson, Mississippi, graduating fourth in a class of 50 dentists. After dental School , Dr. Caron continued his dental studies at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, completing a two-year General Practice Residency in 1988, where he was Chief General Dental resident in his second year in Rochester.

In 1988, Dr. Caron moved back to Mississippi and joined Dr. John Bryson practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in Tupelo. For the last 23 years, Tupelo and Tupelo Smiles have been Dr. Caron’s home.

In 2010, he became one of 300 accredited members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (ACD), having been a member of the AACD since 2004. The AACD is the only dental organization in the world that offers a credential in cosmetic dentistry.

In 2011, Dr. Caron achieved Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The AGD recognizes dentists who value and participate in continuing dental education. He routinely completes 75-100 hours of continuing dental education every year in all aspects related to general dentistry.

Dr. Caron is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Mississippi Dental Association (MDA), and The American Orthodontic Society (AOS). He has studied extensively about CEREC Cad-cam dentistry and has completed all continuing education available to become proficient in this fast evolving technology.

He has studied extensively in cosmetic and restorative dentistry including continuums at the Cosmedent Center for Esthetic Excellence, the Kois Center, the Eubank Institute, and the Dental Arts Center.

Dr. Caron and his wife Kim have two teenage children, Emilie and Josh. Kim Caron is part owner and founder of the Caron Prince Art Gallery, in Tupelo, Mississippi. In his free time, Dr. Caron enjoys following his children’s activities, boating, reading, and snow skiing (as we call it in the south!). Richard has been a runner for 31 years and has completed four marathons and hopes to do more in the future.
